How the LGBT Community Shot Itself in the Foot

It is no more a news that the LGBT community have been the object of despise, animosity, mockery and stereotypes. From ancient times, the LGBT people have been under persecution. In recent times, LGBT people have gained some level of freedom and rights in most developed countries. Although in Africa LGBT remains detestable and people who identify as LGBT are faced with persecution. For example, Nigeria ranks among the most homophobic countries in the world with death sentences. Even in neighbouring countries like Ghana, the LGBT people there have been fighting for recognition and rights. After a careful observation of the LGBT community, I have come up with a different view! While the killing of LGBT people is not justified by any means, there seem to be a reason for all the animosities and stereotypes going on against the LGBT people. Before I present my reason for saying that the LGBT animosity and stereotypes have a reason to conclude it to be justified; let me clarify that there is nothing forbidden or unnatural about the LGBT sexual orientation. I personally believe that we have had LGBT people since ancient times. Now the question is: how did the LGBT community shoot itself in the foot? What did the LGBT community do or have been doing to deserve the animosity and stereotypes? One thing I will tell you confidently is this: people are watching you. They may not talk to you or call your attention but they are seeing you, observing you and following up with you quietly. Some people can decide to speak out and express their opinions while others can decide to keep it to themselves and treat you as they see you.

For anyone who is very close to the LGBT community; you will realize that the LGBT people have REDUCED themselves to sex objects and sex slaves. No one will respect a community of people whose identity and existence is mainly focused on sex, sex, sex, sex and sex…..to quote the words of Shelly Rogers (AKA the Good Witch) “Moderation is the one place where all philosophies meet. Both human and Divine.” For example, during the LGBT Pride month in 2023, we saw what happened in California and Washington DC. I myself was literally ashamed and disappointed!! We saw full grown men and women riding on bicycle naked and walking naked in the streets of California and Washington DC all in the name of being proud of who they are and all in the name of celebrating pride month. This kind of attitude is not acceptable. What happened to celebrating pride month in decency? Since you have reduced yourself to sex tools, then you should be treated with all disdain and contempt with stereotypes because you have failed to carry yourself with dignity and humanity; we are human beings not animals.

In the LGBT community, there is a lot of TOXICITY going on: for example, I hear that there are roles such as top, bottom and verse. Of recent, I am hearing that there is another sexual role called “side.” Now according to what I learnt, top means the gay man who penetrates the other gay man. Bottom is the gay man who receives the penetration and the verse is the gay man who can receive penetration and can also penetrate another gay man. I have not understood what side sex role means. Information reaching me from credible sources says that in the LGBT community, there is a role shaming stereotype.

They say that bottoms are “women” hence the (so-called) tops look down on the bottom and treat them as inferior people. I also learnt that bottoms expect the top to take care of them because they are bottom. While the top is to be the provider and protector; well in this case, I think it should be a situation of different strokes for different folks because not all LGBT relationship is existing in this type of reality. I read from credible sources that finding love among the LGBT community is equal to searching for a pin in the pile of haystack! I felt maybe because I am living in a third world, poor and undeveloped country (Nigeria) that is the reason why the queer people in my country have concluded with that. My reality check and GREATEST SHOCK was served to me when I watched many queer people from USA, Canada, Australia, UK etc talk about the same issue. That was when I realized that nearly all queer people all over the world are having the same frustrations in finding true love!! For example, many of the queer people from these mentioned developed countries have always expressed their disappointments and frustrations in finding true love. They said that dating apps are saturated with gay people who are just after sex and hookups.

According to the queer guys, the moment you meet up with a gay guy and you bring up uplifting and heart-based conversations they get bored. They also said that the only thing majority of gay men care about is hot body and that is all. It does not matter if you have toxic attitude, it does not matter if you are not like-minded. So long you are very handsome and sexy then they will do anything to go to bed with you. This is the current reality of the LGBT community. There are also the category of gay people who believed that the LGBT is a lifestyle and game…wow!!!!!! Hmmm….well I personally believe that people are born with their sexual orientation.

The Heart of the Matter

This is where the LGBT community shot themselves in the foot. From the very first time the LGBT developed the word straight to refer to heterosexual men and women that is the day they GAVE their power away. Think of it, the word straight carries a lot of superiority, perfection, dignity, decency and nobility. People who refer to themselves as straight say it with feelings of worthiness, decency and superiority. So the very day that the LGBT community started using this word to refer to heterosexual men that was the day they GAVE their power away. I strongly believe that NO ONE is straight at all. I do not refer to people with a non-LGBT sexual orientation as straight. I refer to them as heterosexual, hetero or het. For example, I can say he is a heterosexual man, or hetero woman or het man, het woman. This is the way I refer to the people with non-LGBT sexual orientation. As I have said before, the LGBT people have shot themselves in the foot. Not just with the terminology of straight; but with sex labels which ULTIMATELY classified them sex objects, unworthy, unnatural, and people to be despised. There are other nomenclatures which the LGBT community has also used to bring disdain and contempt upon themselves. We hear things as pronouns: he/him, they/them, she/her, cis-gender, non-binary, it/theirs and so on. Honestly, I find these terms ridiculous and unnecessary.

Take a look at the following sexual labels flowing and overflowing in the LGBT community:

Greysexual: this is a new sexual orientation that the LGBT community came up with in 2025. It was trending on the internet in August 2025; here is what this new sexual orientation means: Graysexualitygreysexualitygray asexuality, or gray-sexuality is a sexuality within the asexual spectrum. It is often defined as limited amounts of sexual attraction that can vary in intensity. Gray asexuality is considered the gray area between asexuality and allosexuality which a person may experience attraction in variety of unconventional ways. A gray-asexual may engage in sex with someone they have a strong connection to, but their relationship is not based on sex, nor do they crave sex. This can also be known as gray areas, which can be combined with different orientations, such as: A graysexual alloromantic person: rarely sexually attracted to others. A gray-pansexual aromantic person: rarely attracted to people sexually of all genders, but never romantically attracted to anyone. Gray-biromantic person: usually sexually attracted to women or feminine-presenting people; rarely experiences romantic attraction towards more than one gender.

Demisexuality: demisexual person does not experience sexual attraction until they have formed a strong emotional connection with a prospective partner. The definition of “emotional bond” varies from person to person in as much as the elements of the split attraction model can vary. Demisexuals can have any romantic orientation. People in the asexual spectrum communities often switch labels throughout their lives, and fluidity in orientation and identity is a common attitude.

Fictosexuality: Fictosexuality refers to the sexual attraction towards fictional characters, encompassing those who lack attraction to real individuals and fall within the spectrum of gray asexuality. These individuals can be found within online asexual communities. In recent times, certain fictosexuals have actively participated in queer activism.

Fraysexuality: Fraysexuality (also less commonly known as ignotasexual) is the type of gray asexuality where people almost only are sexually attracted to people they don’t knowor people who they are not attached to. Attraction can disappear if an emotional connection develops. In a way, fraysexuality is conditioned almost exclusively to unknown people, even feeling immediate attraction to them. It is often described as the polar opposite of demisexuality. The attribution of the term fray as sexuality is credited to Tumblr user edensmachine, an account that has been deactivated, and has existed since at least 2014. The term fraysexual is probably a neologism from fray, which means fighting, which could represent the lack or breaking of affective bonds in people fighting.

You have now seen the reason why I said that the LGBT community has reduced themselves to sex objects. Be honest with yourself: if you are a non-LGBT person (whether man or woman); would you respect a group of people who have reduced themselves to sex objects given all these sex labels they have used to brand themselves? The bitter honest answer is NO. This is among the reason why other non-LGBT people see the LGBT sexual orientation as a mental illness and demonic. Let me give an example with Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia have set a standard in which EVERY country MUST follow. What is the example? You already know that in Saudi Arabia, women are not allowed to dress indecently. Hence, any female artist who is going on a show in Saudi Arabia MUST as a matter of fact and RESPECT for the Saudi Arabian people dress DECENTLY. The WWE Women did it when they went to Saudi Arabia. They dressed decently covering up their bodies. Cardi B, the American singer did it too. I watched a video of Cardi B in Saudi Arabia and she was decently dressed. Covering all her body from head to toe; now this is what I call standard.

What Saudi Arabia has told the world is “you must treat us with respect. You must enter our country decently.” The Arabian people have embodied that in their attitude; this is where the LGBT community have MISSED their mojo and shot themselves in the foot! So long this INCORRECT TERM (straight) exists the LGBT community will continue to be despised and held in contempt. So long these mad and useless sexual labels exist in the LGBT community. The animosity against the LGBT community will CONTINUE to be on the rise because NO sane person will want to respect a community of people whose life starts, dwells and ends in sex, sex, sex, sex, sex and sex. I triple DARE the LGBT community to carry themselves in dignity, nobility and decency. Then you will see how other non-LGBT people will respect them and treat them with dignity. It may not completely wipe out the animosity against the LGBT people; but there will be a great positive difference in the way LGBT people are seen.
