An Unscriptural Doctrine of the Catholic Church That MUST Be Stopped!!

To be honest, I have always wanted to write about this. Frankly speaking, it was in my bucket list just that I have been busy with other stuffs. Once I read the newsheadline about Reinhard Marx speaking about it I knew it was a reminder to join force with him to also speak against this unscriptural practices and doctrine of the Catholic Church!!

The Catholic Church seems to attempt being altruistic and compassionate BUT all the same they have MISSED IT for a very long time. And it is only pertinent that they change this unscriptural practice because it is baseless, unscriptural and enslaving. What is this unscriptural practice of the Catholic Church? Celibacy; serving God should and is not required to make you a barren. In the same Bible we have been told to go into the world and multiply. If ever someone wants to serve God as a celibate that should be something that comes from the person’s willingness—just the person’s volition!! But making it a compulsory requirement is unscriptural.

We have heard and seen cases were Catholic Priests are been found in the act of fornication and abuse of children sexually (pedophile) all of which are born out of the enslavement they are in. How about the so-called Reverend Sisters; they are not left out as they are still involved all manners of sexual activities. I used to teach in a Catholic School; the so-called Reverend Sisters are NOTHING to write home about as it is very obvious that they are not virgins. Even if they claim to be emulating the footsteps of Holy Mother Mary; but their lifestyle and character is NEVER in harmony with the example of Holy Mother Mary.

There are Rev. Fathers and Catholic Priests who have children, wife and girlfriends secretly. This is not something that is supposed to done in a hidden way; but because of the religious bondage they are in, they have to play “hide-and-seek.” Let us say the truth: is that allowed? Was it supposed to be so? Even the Jesus Christ they are emulating did not put a law that one must be a celibate to follow him. Mary gave birth to other children apart from Jesus Christ!

Sex is part of human existence. I have always said it and will keep saying it: religion is another form of colonialism and brainwashing—that is why I left religion years and I could not have made a better choice!

I also want to thank Reinhard Marx for speaking up on this unscriptural doctrine of the Catholic Church. I strongly believe that Reinhard Marx is making a ripple effect with such boldness of speaking the TRUTH! Also, I sincerely desire that other people even world leaders alongside other religious bodies, individuals and organizations should join hands to speak against THIS unscriptural practice of celibacy by the Catholic Church because it is UNSCRIPTURAL, ANATHEMA, inhuman and baseless.

German cardinal urges lifting celibacy requirement for priests

A German Cardinal, Reinhard Marx, whose archdiocese was the subject of a recent damning report into child sex abuses, said Wednesday he was in favour of lifting the celibacy requirement for priests.

“For many priests, it would be better if they were married,” the influential archbishop of Munich and Freising told the Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper.

His comments came after a damning independent report last month found 497 victims of sexually abusive behaviour by 235 people — including 173 priests — in the Munich and Freising archdiocese between 1945 and 2019.

The report by law firm Westpfahl Spilker Wastl found that former Munich and Freising archbishop, ex-pope Benedict XVI, failed to take action to stop four priests accused of child sex abuse in Munich in the 1980s before he became pontiff.

It also accused current archbishop Marx of failing to act in two cases of suspected abuse. After the report was released, Marx said he was “shocked and ashamed” by the findings.

On Wednesday, Marx said he wondered if celibacy “should be a basic requirement for every priest”.

“I think that things, as they are, cannot continue like this,” he added.

“I always say this to young priests: living alone is not so easy.

“And if some say: without the obligation of celibacy, they will all get married! My answer is: so what! If they all marry, it would at least be a sign that things are not currently working.”

The unusually forthright comments on the subject came on the eve of a new assembly of the German synod, which is expected to move towards modernising the institution by 2023.

It is expected to look at several subjects viewed with suspicion by conservatives and the Vatican, such as allowing priests to marry and a greater role for women.

Last year Marx offered Pope Francis his resignation over the church’s “institutional and systemic failure” in its handling of child sex abuse scandals.

However, Pope Francis rejected his offer, urging the cardinal known for his reforms to stay and help shape change in the church. Four years ago a report found that at least 3,677 children had been sexually abused in the Catholic Church in Germany since 1946; but its authors, who did not have access to the church’s files, estimated that the true number was far higher.

The Fish Racket

My father always gave his share of the catch to me to guard while he went to help another group. At first, I sat there, patiently and proudly guarding the growing pile of fish. But then a group of my friends came by, laughing and playing. They called to me and I left my post to play with them for a few minutes, but always with frequent glances at my pile of fish and with one eye on the figure of my father. If anyone came too near my fish or if my father turned in my direction, I hurried back to my post. But the morning was long and hot and I was only five years old. I became tired, hungry and thirsty. Food sellers went to and fro among the fishermen, with trays of tempting cakes, fruits and sweets upon their heads. I looked longingly at the food, but I had no money to buy things with.

Then, one day, I made a discovery which was to lead me into such a tangled web of deception that I was in the end unable to extract myself from it. I discovered that the food sellers would accept fish in payment for their wares. I began by exchanging the smallest fish in my charge for an orange, or piece of sugarcane. Then with a larger fish, I bought cakes and sweets and shared them with my friends. At last, the day came, when in a reckless burst of goodwill or bid for popularity, I exchanged my whole pile of fish for food and distributed it among all the children who came crowding round me.

During the next half hour, while I waited for my father. I was in agony. At last, I saw him coming.

“Where are my fish?” He asked at once.

“I sent them to grandmother.”

My father was content with this answer

He took my hand and we walked to my grandmother’s compound. Here he spoke for a few minutes with his mother and then asked her, “Where are my fish” my grandmother assumed that he was speaking about that part of the catch that was always put aside for him as a son of the house. She fetched a tray of fish and gave them to me to carry. My father assumed that the fish which I had bartered away were among those which his mother gave me. He was quite satisfied. He took my hand again and led me home. I could hardly believe my good fortune. I breathed easily again and I began to think I was rather clever.

The next Saturday, I did the same thing. I bartered away all my father’s fish. I told him that I had given them to my grandmother to be put with those which she had for us and I was not found out, I did it again the following Saturday and again and again. But my luck was too good to last….

The Hidden Persuaders

Personally, since my primary school, high school, college and even after college I have been wondering how come these advertisers are SO smart and manipulative! They seem to be able to control the human mind…I am still WOWED by some jingles that are been played to make us buy products and services. These advertisers have the tips and tricks to penetrate our minds and in the end we end up doing their bidding (buying their products!). That is why today I decided to talk about advertisement. I hope you enjoy reading through and learn something from it.

As a Maverick and Quirky person that I am; I do not just subscribe to whatever is been advertised. If it is not necessary for me to have I do not spend my money on it. But unfortunately, there are people who always fall prey to the tricks, manipulations and sweet-tongues of these advertisers and their advertisements. Suffice to say that some people are like puppets—hence making to wonder where they put their willpower, discipline and integrity. By puppets I mean some people just fall for anything in vogue. Is that allowed?

Well, I am of the believe that you will find this blogpost helpful, insightful, liberating, inspiring and a game-changer: ultimately setting you up for a more positive life momentum!

Are you a victim of the hidden persuaders? We are all influenced for more than we realize by professional persuaders, the men and women of advertising. Advertisers have something to sell and they use a number of ways to persuade us to buy their products. They spend millions of naira every year studying human behaviour so that they can control our choices effectively.

Certain feelings and fears are common to nearly all of us and advertisers take advantage of these emotions. For instance, most of us need security and want to be popular with others. We also want to be healthy, successful and attractive. By playing feelings like these advertisers make us believe that we need and want certain products because they will improve our lives in some ways. For example, toothpaste makers doubled tier sales in a few years by making people uncomfortable about their teeth and breath. Unless you had fresh breath and white teeth you would be a social misfit!

Another interesting example of emotional manipulation can be seen in the advertising of beauty products. An advertising executive once said that women will pay a hundred naira for skin cream but no more than ten naira for cake of soap. The reason is that soap promises to make them clean. However, cram promises to make them beautiful. The women are buying a promise. In other words, the cosmetic manufacturers are not only selling cream, but hope. Perhaps, the most obvious method of advertising is the use of sex appeal. Some adverts promise success with the opposite sex. If you buy a product, you will get the man or woman of your dreams. For example, an advert for impulse products tells us ‘impulse made me man’s favourite.’ Sex appeal is used to manipulate men as well—“Change to Ego, it will change your life,” says the man in the advert; surrounded by beautiful women.

In other adverts, aimed mainly at men, women are used to sell products not normally associated with them. Research has shown that the image of an attractive woman is always an effective way of advertising. She may sit on a new car or she may lie at a man’s feet stroking his new socks. Whatever she does her image sells. Women are used to as objects to attract male customers. Even colour is used to manipulate our choices.

A company did a test to see if people were influenced by a product’s packaging. Firstly, they gave a group of women three different boxes which all contained the same washing powder. Then they asked them to try out the different washing powders and decide which one was best. After they had used the products, many women stated that the one in the brilliant yellow box was too strong while the one in the blue box left their clothes dirty. The best of all, according to the most of the women was the powder in the third box which has a design of soft cololurs on it.

Next time, you buy something. Ask yourself why you choose that specific product. Are you being persuaded that you need something by the men and women of advertising?

Journey Through The Forest

Hello there!! Let me entertain you with a story titled “Journey Through The Forest.” Sit back and relax as we follow Kaiga and Karanja on their journey in the forest. Enjoy!

On the morning of the journey; Kaiga was careful to note who the first person to knock on his door was. People from certain clans bring bad luck. These people are well known. If one of them knocks, you have to put off the whole journey. The first person who knocks was Wakonyo; this new girl who was taken on just the other day to wash clothes and scrub the floor. She is a girl, she is not yet married. She is bound to be a good omen…

Kaiga and Karanja were away early in the morning. People were still asleep but the milk boys were already at their job. There was a lot of dew on the grass and the cold air made the ears hard and painful. Travelers can walk fairly fast in the morning, but by noon the thigh muscles get tired. The soil on the path is hot and the sandals sink into it. Then you know it is time to take a rest. It is time to eat the bananas and drink sour milk.

Inside the Nyandarua forest, it is dark during the day and it is dark during the night. You do not know the time until you come out of the forest on the other side. The paths are very narrow. They wind themselves between huge trees, into great big gullies and out again into more trees. The ground is dark and humid. The falling leaves have formed a carpet on the ground. Sometimes, a little light filters through and this gives rise to some very weird shapes among the thick trees. You see what looks like a buffalo but it turns out to be a tree stump. You see an object moving in the distance but then you decide that it is not moving at all. But when Kaiga saw a white spots across the path, he began wondering “Karanja, do you see those white spots”? “Which one?”

“Those ones near the big podo tree?”

“Yes, now I see them. They look like black and white spots spread out across the path.”

“Do you see the head?”

“Which head? Where is it?”

“On one end of the black and white spots.”

“Yes. It is the head. It is the head of something.”

“Do you see the tail?”

“Which tail? Where is it?”

“Opposite the head.”

“Yes. Now, I see the tail. It is the tail of something.”

“Karanja, what does a head and a tail and lots of black spots in between add up to?”

“A leopard. We are finished!”

“Yes, we are. If we go into a hole, the leopard will find us there. If we run, it will run after us. If we climb a tree, it will also do the same.”

“And if we sit down.”?

“Just calm down Karanja. The most important thing with a leopard is not to sit down but to be careful not to step on its tail. We won’t sit down, we will keep going. We must go slowly past it.”

“Kaiga, you mean we must pass it on the head side?”

“Yes. That is what I mean.”

“Then you go in front.”

“No. If we change places the leopard will get frightened and jump on us. Keep going, Karanja.”

“I think we had better go back, Kaiga. That girl Wakonyo is not a girl for good luck.”

“Well, maybe.”

But you cannot blame Wakonyo for this. It is the light that is to blame. Without the light there would be no optical illusions. And this was one of them.

Dr. Joseph Ladapo: A Patriotic and Luminary Nigerian-American Doctor!

Florida’s Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo issued new guidance for COVID-19 tests on Jan. 4 in a bid to reduce the strain on the state’s testing centers.

So many people are using the centers the availability of tests is under pressure.

“We are going to scale back,” Ladapo told reporters at a press conference. “We’re coming back to something sensible.”

People have been flooding Florida testing sites, leading to long lines, he said.

Instead of restricting testing, however, Ladapo said he would place a new emphasis on “high-value” testing against those of “low-value” in order to give priority to tests that would “likely change outcomes” based on a positive or negative result.

For example, someone who is elderly with pre-existing medical conditions and is having symptoms he regards as high value.

Someone who is otherwise healthy with no pre-existing medical issues and with no symptoms is low value, he explained.

Ladapo said people need to get back to a “sense of normalcy” in society.

“We need to unwind this sort of planning and living one’s life around testing,” Ladapo said.

“It’s really time for people to be living; to make the decisions they want regarding vaccination; to enjoy the fact that many people have natural immunity; and to unwind this preoccupation with only COVID as determining the boundaries and constraints and possibilities of life.

“And we’re going to start that in Florida.”

Ladapo said Omicron is “on the rise” in Florida and cases are “vertically climbing,” but people are being “whipped into a frenzy” over it and there is no need because the variant is “much less violent” than other variants that have spawned from the COVID-19 virus.

“What you’re seeing in cases is actually just a fraction of what’s happening in the community,” he said. “For example, the CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] estimates that only one in four cases of COVID are diagnosed, that may be an even bigger ratio with Omicron.”

He said that Florida has seen a rapid increase in cases and hospitalizations, but added it is not comparable to the case rise.

“A substantial share, based on the data we have from some of our hospitals of the patients in hospitals with COVID, are there in the hospital with COVID rather than for COVID.”

In other words, people who go to the hospital are there for other reasons and then test positive for COVID-19 because hospitals test everyone who comes for treatment, Ladapo said.

The surgeon general said that federal leadership had “created a monster” in public health.

“What’s happened in the country is that people have forgotten, or abandoned basic public health principles,” he said. “Instead, they have opted for things that are anti-public health.”

He said anti-public health is “taking away people’s options” and “ability to choose.”

“Anti-health tends to be mandates,” he continued. “Anti-public health is losing touch with sensibility.”

The Surgeon General’s office wants to educate and provide people with the ability to make “better decisions.”

“That’s what public health used to be,” Ladapo said. “The federal approach has been to mandate and to create division and strife and really politicize this pandemic.”

Getting back to basic principles of public health is important, he said and part of that is prevention such as weight loss, exercise, and vitamin intake.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was present at the press conference and said COVID-19 tests have turned into “a testing industrial company” and are a “cash cow” for people.

“There’s people making huge amounts of money,” he said of the COVID-19 testing companies.

DeSantis urged everyone to live their lives like they did before the pandemic.

PSYCHOLOGY OF MASKING

With all the COVID and Omicron Vaccination madness and drama going on in the world; I decided to share this post with you today. I found it helpful, inspiring, eye-opening, empowering and enlightening. I got this post from my LinkedIn Connection (Ole Karlsson). It is so true and touching!!

I totally believe with what is stated below. Already ubiquitous smart phones are greatly contributing to a frightening degree of social withdrawal. Being an old-timer, I can actually remember (ancient) times, 20 or more years ago, when people waiting at bus stops actually used to interact with each other.

(Chatting, joking, etc.)

Nowadays everybody is completely riveted to their phones, absolutely ignoring those alongside them. Even though they most likely see each other every day, they continue to remain strangers!

When driving by, I can’t help but see a complete withdrawal from society! Which is resulting in younger generations who are socially inept, inarticulate, awkward with strangers, and incapable of easily conversing with people they have just met.

A huge part of human communication depends on facial gestures. Here’s a thought! Do you still find yourself smiling at somebody even though you’re wearing a mask? And then it dawns on you that they have idea that you are smiling!!!

(For all they know – you may have been scowling at them.)

Humans have 42 facial muscles, meant to help us communicate.

(ie: smiles, grins, chuckles, sneers, expressions of surprise, grimaces, pursing of lips, blowing a kiss, etc.)

You get the idea!

Masked children are growing up now – never seeing any of the above facial gestures, while being unable to express their own emotions, delights, shocks, fears, or empathy!

Christmas in Nigeria

Every 25th December Christmas is celebrated throughout the world! To mark the birth of Jesus Christ; when I was a Jehovah’s Witness we were told not to celebrate Christmas because it was not written in the Bible and Jesus Christ did not celebrate his birthday. There have been many speculations as to the exact date of Christ’s birth; whether Christmas is a Pagan holiday festival or not there is something I find ridiculous about Christmas: that is the mentality that says “Christmas is a season to show love.” I laugh at this statement. Here is what Mother Theresa said which I agree with: “Love is a fruit in all seasons and it is within the reach of every hands.”

Waiting for December 25 before you show love and kindness to your fellow human being is a very silly, lope-sided mentality and attitude! What happened to other months of the year? When Jesus Christ said to “love your neighbours as yourselves” did he say that we should show that love ONLY on December 25?

During Christmas period there is this kind of joy and celebration in the air that is very visible in every body and places. Playing of Christmas songs, Father Christmas (Santa Claus), giving of gifts, buying new clothes, food etc. people want to look special and beautiful on Christmas day (LoL). The way Christmas is celebrated vary from country to country. I learnt that in some countries (especially in non Christian countries) Christmas are not recognized as an holiday period.

In Nigeria, during Christmas period things are exceptionally costly!! People even get to the extent of borrowing money to fulfill their needs. For example, I know of someone who bought Christmas clothes for his children on credit just because he wanted his children to be happy on Christmas day. And what was the result of the debt? He was disgraced as he could not pay up as he promised. This is just one among the numerous ugly cases we hear about during Christmas season in Nigeria. There are cases where a husband and wife will fight because of Christmas celebrations; just because the man did not have money to meet up with the needs of the Christmas. For me, I do not attach any special thing to Christmas. I just believe that showing love and compassion does not have a fixed date!

They say that some people used to have high blood pressure during Christmas in Nigeria because of the pressure they mount on themselves to meet up. We have heard of a situation whereby a wife stabbed the husband to death because he could not give her money for Christmas—to mention but a few! It makes me to start asking: if Jesus Christ was still with us here on earth would he want people to be buying things in exorbitant prices all in the name of celebrating his birthday? Should we be having altercations and negative dramas all because of Christmas?

Maybe it is known in other countries of the world; in Nigeria there is a belief that is well known. The belief is that during Christmas period witches and wizards are always on the lookout for human bloods and dead bodies hence the high rate of accident happens in the December period or at least once we enter the months that ends with “ember.” As a child, I have always heard this statement even till now that I have become an adult! They say the accidents that happen during the December period are caused by evil ones. But I am not surprised to hear such because if you ask me I would ask you back by saying: how far can you see? What do we know? There are lots of things going in the atmosphere that we cannot see things going on in the intangible realm.

To wrap up this blogpost, I have a Christmas story I want to share with you; I read it on Facebook. I found it very funny and I trust you would enjoy reading through it.

X-Mas Humour!!!

Three West Indian men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates.

‘In honour of this holy season’ Saint Peter said, ‘You must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven.’

The Trini fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. ‘is ah candle’, he said.

‘You may pass through the pearly gates’ Saint Peter said.

The Bajan reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and said, ‘Dems bells, ma’an.’

Saint Peter said ‘You may pass through the pearly gates’.

The Jamaican started searching desperately through his pockets and finally pulled out a pair of women’s panties.

St. Peter looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and asked, ‘And just what do those symbolize?’

The Jamaican replied, ‘Dem is Carols.’!!!

Who Are Earth Angels, Healers, Lightworkers and Starseeds?

If you have experienced spiritual awakening or is experiencing spiritual awakening; you will come across such terms as the one that makes up the title of this blogpost. And of a TRUTH; there are people who are Healers, Earth Angels, Lightworkers and Starseeds. Everyone is on a mission in this planet earth. Some people are working for the ascension of humanity into a higher dimension; while others are doing contrary.

For me personally, I have been blessed to come across Healers and Earth Angels who have TRULY and are still TRULY contributing to my growth, success and development. Indeed, there are people who are emissaries of Light.

Thanks in part to Steve Anhael Nobel; whom I got this information from in his book titled Starseeds. The book is so profound I thought to share from it; as I have always wanted to write about this topic. Then the Universe led me to come across it. Steve’s book (Starseed) has been and is actually an integral part of me being able to write this post.

So, without further ado, below you are going to find out who Earth Angels, Healers, Lightworkers and Starseeds are.

1. Lightworkers and Healers: These are the people interested in ascension and enlightenment practises such as connecting with the HS, angels and guides. They are into channelling, awakening the lightbody, DNA activation and connecting with the Planetary Grids and the Cosmic Christ. They are interested in various forms of energy healing such as Angelic Reiki and they can be found hanging out around most spiritual meetup groups and busy centres of spiritual learning.

2. Earthworkers and Bodyworkers: These groups are into sacred sites, leylines, permaculture and earth healing in a big way. They are often into communities and living offgrid. You can find many at the various summer festivals letting their hair down with drumming, dancing and various creative pursuits. You may find these travelling around different communities checking out how others are living closer to the land. Another subgroup are into working magically with nature spirits and elementals. In this group are those working with the body bodyworkers, dancers and martial artists.

3. System Busters: These are the ones that go into a system to eventually break ranks and reveal some of the hidden ways of that system. This is a challenging role since many get prosecuted and even imprisoned. Yet this is a very effective

way to bring about meaningful change especially with the huge impact of the internet and social media. A few examples of Starseed whilstleblowers are: Julian Assange (Wikileaks), Edward Snowden (NSA) and Corey Goode (US Military Secret Space Program).

4. Technical Innovators: There are many Starseeds coming in now whose focus is scientific advancement and technical innovation. An example of a Starseed who had this focus is Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs was a visionary and a creative genuis and he left behind a legacy that changed the computer, music, film and wireless industries. There are many more souls of his calibre incarnating now and further along the 5D timeline. As we move further along this higher frequency timeline there will be an acceleration of our ability to access higher forms of technology. This will effect the way we live on earth forever. Starseeds have already shifted areas such as communications and many are interested in developing free energy technology. Already we are living in a global Village where we can all connect if we have access to the internet. There is much work that needs to be done to clean up the planet. As we go further into 5D we will find ways to bring our need for technological development together with building a safe and sustainable planet.

5. Dark Arts Practitioners: This is a rather specialised group and its main purpose is to neutralise and redeem the ‘dark’ forces on the planet. The dark is comprised of those souls who have volunteered to play for the side hindering and blocking spiritual awakening.

6. Soul Awakeners: There have been many who have come here to awaken us from our slumber of 3D living. Many great spiritual teachers such as The Buddha and The Christ were Starseeds of a very high vibration. Starseeds in this group include artists and musicians. Advance guard members of this group include the composer Motzart and the painter Chagall. More contemporary Starseeds include musicians David Bowie, John Lennon, George Harrison and Bob Marley who have opened many up of us to a new way of living and loving. Many soul awakeners are parents of Starseeds who are guiding these new souls as they grow in light and wisdom. There are many spiritual teachers on the planet now who are here to wake up Starseeds to their true multidimensional potential.

This work only begins once the Starseed has awoken and integrated the high frequencies of this process in their energy fields. This is not a mission that can be rushed.

Detachment is POWER

Have you ever set an intention to manifest something and then you begin to feel the need to have it manifest quicker and faster into your reality or getting worried about how your set goals will be manifested? I think everyone is guilty of that (including me! LoL). In my own personal journey of manifesting, spiritual awakening and personal development; I have grown to learn that when you get attached to something; you get yourself entangled in a vortex of defeat. But I did not get the understanding easily just like that. I made mistakes and saw for myself that attachment is a negative energy. “Desperation, neediness and attachment are repellant energies.” So said Jeannette Maw (the Good Vibe Coach)

Now let us see the difference between attachment and detachment. When I first read the Buddha talk about attachment as the root of suffering; I was like “what is this one talking about.” At that time I have not understand the meaning of what Buddha said about attachment; later on when I understood what the Buddha was saying about attachment I came to appreciate Buddha well. My love for Buddha soared!! Suffice to say that I fell in love with the Buddha! And to seal and show that love; I made a frame of Buddha in a picture and hang it on the wall in my room—with the statement about attachment.

Whether you believe it or not; detachment is power. I have been in those two spaces and I know which better (detachment) is. When you embrace detachment; you are handing over everything to the Universe—with faith. But when get attached to something/person etc you create suffering and stagnation for yourself because you give your power away: as you will be living in fear, anxiety, desperation and worry. Attachment is really feudal! Because you will be resisting the Universe—and that leads to self-sabotage! I used to be a person who is TOO attached to things but I have outgrown that reality because attachment worsens situation. I have learnt my lessons though. It was not a smooth outgrowing. That is not to say I do not flop on it; but not like I was before.

Attachment makes you to try to control and know how everything will unfold. This is like fighting a losing battle. You NEVER win! Fear, powerlessness, anxiety, desperation and neediness are the hallmarks of attachment (equals to suffering). Your DUTY is to trust and not to know how everything will unfold; believing that everything will work out fine. To quote the eloquent words of Tania Kotsos: “When you make a request to the Universe, it is not your responsibility to know how your dream will manifest. Trying to know how is telling the Universe that you know better.” Unfortunately, you CANNOT know better than the All-Knowing Universe.

When Debbianne DeRose (aka Woo-Woo Debbi) told me to handle everything with LEVITY; I did not quite understand it. But I came to realize that it was TRUE! Levity is the best way to go about things because like Doris Day said “Que Sera Sera.” Think about it, you CANNOT trade or compare the mental stress, restlessness, anxiety, sickness, depression, sorrow etc that comes with attachment to the peace of mind, joy, good health, happiness, freedom and bliss that comes with detachment.

It takes some level of spiritual muscles and higher consciousness to master detachment. It is easier said done right? Anyway, I encourage you to chill out and TRUST that the Universe is “taking care” of everything for YOU! And also remember this wise words form Sarah Prout: “Manifestation unfolds in PERFECT Divine Timing. Everything is in God’s clock.”

Europe sent Nigeria up to 1 million near-expired doses of covid-19 vaccine

As many as 1 million doses of AstraZeneca’s covid-19 vaccine reportedly expired before they could be used in Nigeria, a country of more than 200 million where less than 2% of the population is fully vaccinated.

According to Reuters, the doses were sent from Europe through Covax, a program to distribute covid-19 vaccines donated by rich countries to poor ones. But Nigeria didn’t have enough time to distribute the supply before much of it expired—in some cases, within four to six weeks, versus the AstraZeneca vaccine’s typical shelf life of six months—and much of the donation went to waste.

Vaccine waste routinely occurs in large immunization campaigns, and rich countries such as the US, UK, and Canada have been especially cavalier in letting millions of doses expire and destroying them, even as the rest of the world was short on supplies. But what happened in Nigeria is a different issue: Not only is the number of wasted doses very large, but they arrived relatively close to their expiration date, in a county not yet equipped to ensure rapid distribution, offering yet another indicator of the severity and complexity of vaccine inequality.

Vaccine waste is on Europe, not Nigeria

The blunder in Nigeria isn’t the first. In November, despite needing vaccine doses, Namibia warned it would be forced to destroy doses because their remaining shelf life wasn’t long enough to allow for distribution. South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Malawi similarly had to destroy or return doses of vaccines donated by wealthy countries because they didn’t receive them in time to distribute them before expiration.

In November, Nigeria was able to distribute 800,000 doses that were close to their expiration date, thanks to a plan that has ramped up vaccine facilities, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

One year after the global vaccination campaign started, rich countries continue to hoard vaccines, pretty much limiting their global redistribution efforts to leftover doses arriving too late for their usefulness to be fully maximized.

Former UK prime minister Gordon Brown warned in late September that 100 million surplus doses of covid-19 vaccines would go to waste in rich countries by December and urged those nations to donate them instead. Even a timely response back then would have likely left receiving countries with only a few weeks to administer the doses.

Ad-hoc vaccine donation is ineffective

In a statement from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), on behalf of Covax, which it leads with the WHO, the organization nonetheless praised Nigeria’s success in delivering large numbers of doses in a short period of time, pointing at an important issue that limits the ability of poor nations to deliver what they receive: the lack of a vaccine supply stream that is predictable and reliable.

Although more doses of vaccines have been sent to poor countries (chiefly African) in recent weeks, the donations continue to be piecemeal and ad-hoc, with doses often received close to expiration dates, according to GAVI.

The lack of a steady stream of supply is one more challenge in countries already grappling with a lack of refrigerators or reliable electricity to store the vaccine in remote locations, a lack of health workers to administer the shots, a shortage of syringes needed to deliver the life-saving medicine into arms, and the need to conduct other large immunization campaigns alongside the one for covid-19.

So alongside other measures (such as sharing patents), wealthy countries need to get more consistent with how much they’re sending and how often, and making sure their donations have enough shelf life left to get distributed.

Responsibility is on vaccine manufacturers, too. “We’ve seen manufacturers [that] delayed their shipments to Covax while we know that they’re supplying other buyers, countries,” WHO chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan said at a recent press conference.

As the emergence of omicron has shown, until better immunity is reached globally, the whole world continues to be under threat from new variants. We need wealthy countries and drugmakers to stop treating poor countries as repositories for soon-to-expire leftovers, so that we have a chance to have some actual control over the pandemic.

Now, reading such information can make one become resentful. But I am not. Who do you blame? The foolish and gullible Nigerian government.
