The Untold Story of the Wright Brothers that Will MOTIVATE YOU

When I was in high school, my English teacher told me about this story of the Wright Brothers. And I read about them in a local magazine. In truth, when I first story from Adavenge Onise website I was enchanted. It REALLY caught my attention! Hence I decided to share it with you! Another thing that really, really, fascinated and also re-inspired me is that Adavenge Onise is a Nigerian and am a Nigerian too!! I have been inspired and rekindled by this story of the Wright Brothers.

On my own personal experience, I have also had some challenges which I was able to overcome. Before you start reading the story of the Wright Brothers; I deem it fit to also share my story and journey of how I became a published author with you. My story was published in a South African platform and you can watch the video on YouTube. I have also grown to learn and understand impossibility only exist in the mind. Nothing is impossible…

Without further ado, there you have the story of the Wright Brothers below:

Once upon a time in the year 1903, on the 17th of December.

Two brothers and an eager crowd had gathered at the open plains of Kitty Hawk to make history.

The Wright brothers(who were bicycle makers) were attempting to make the first powered flight of an airplane.

The Wright Brothers

Orville Wright climbed onboard their crude airplane.

At the back of his mind, he could clearly remember that men(who were more educated with more resources) had died in horrible crashes trying to fly their airplane designs.

His brother, Wilbur looked at him to confirm he was ready and then started the engines of the plane . . .

Orville took a deep breath and released the latch holding the plane in place…There was no turning back now.

The Wright Brothers

20 seconds later,

The Wright brothers had successfully completed the first powered flight in Human history.

Before this historic flight,

Many had tried and failed(Some even died in the process)

People claimed it was impossible for an airplane to fly.

Wright Brothers

They said it was a pipe dream that would keep costing money and lives.

But here we are today. . .

Seeing a plane fly over your location is something you are used to.

Listen . . .

Everything seems impossible until someone actually does it.

Why?

It all comes down to Mindset.

How you approach a problem determines the result you get.

If you see a challenge as do-able,

You would carry this confidence into ensuring you accomplish it and surprisingly, you would always achieve it(irrespective of the challenges you face along the way).

But if you see a challenge as insurmountable,

You would quickly give up at the first sign of trouble . . .

You are reading this write up because . . . Destiny wants you to come in contact with all the tools and information you need to build an excellent and amazing life, to fulfil destiny and create income streams which would pump money into your account and solve your money issues and give you the freedom you deserve.

You might feel at this point it is impossible.

But look at the results of people around you who have fulfilled destiny, made an impact, and are earning money while they sleep.

Do you know the difference between you and them?

MINDSET…

If you want to live an excellent life and fulfill your God-given purpose on earth.

You must learn to transform your mindset.

Having finished reading this story; I want you to read carefully the lyrics of this song by the enigmatic and beautiful Irish singer: Enya. The title is Only If.

To your inspiration and motivation!!

Here are the lyrics:

“Only If…”

When there’s a shadow,
you reach for the sun.
When there is love,
then you look for the one.
And for the promises, there is this land.
And for the heavens are
those who can fly.

[Chorus:]
If you really want to,
you can hear me say
Only if you want to
will you find a way.
If you really want to
You can seize the day.
Only if you want to will you fly away.

When there’s a journey,
you follow a star.
When there’s an ocean,
you sail from afar.
And for the broken heart,
there is the sky.
And for tomorrow are those
who can fly.

[Chorus]

Ooh go doe bay mwa.
Ooh go doe bay mwa.

The Message I Have for Korra Obidi and Justin Dean

From the moment I began seeing and watching Korra Obidi and Justin Dean displaying their lovebirds attitudes on social media; I began having some doubts as to how long this their lovebirds attitudes will last. I was really skeptical about their showiness and social media display of affection. If we want to be honest with ourselves; we would ACTUALLY acknowledge it that NOT everything or moment of our lives are meant to be shared on social media. Because the social media is an open place filled with different kinds of energies, consciousness, vibrations, people and things…

Now, not long. If I am able to remember correctly; not more than two weeks after Korra Obidi gave birth to their second child. Justin Dean is now telling divorce!! I mean it sounds sooooo strange and odd!! Those of us who are intuitive and understands that there are more than meet the eyes would want to say that somehow and somewhere; a negative energy/vibration has been projected to Korra Obidi. Not everyone is happy for your success; hence the need to be MINDFUL and CAREFUL cannot be overemphasized!!

In my full transparency, I am and I was happy for the couples (Korra Obidi and Justin Dean). But the news of their divorce is enough to make someone gut-wrenched!! At first I thought it was one of this publicity stunts. Until it became very real and serious that the ex-husband of Korra Obidi (Justin Dean) came out to affirm that the divorce is TRUE. Well, only God knows what will come out of it for them. As I always tell people that every moment is a manifestation of something…and every experience is a lesson or a blessing.

Below are all the brouhahas and drama going on between Korra Obidi and Justin Dean

Korra Obidi: I’ve Been Betrayed Once Again and She Is Unbothered, Dancer’s Hubby Writes, Says He’s Heartbroken

Dancer Korra Obidi’s husband, Justin Dean, has taken to social media with yet another post amid their marital crisis Dean in the post shared to his IG page mentioned how he has always been dedicated to his family but must now leave for the sake of his mental health He equally accused his wife of being unbothered about the entire situation as netizens flooded his comment section with different reactions

The drama between US-based Nigerian dancer, Korra Obidi and her husband, Justine Dean, continues to unfold on social media to the worry and concern of their supporters. In a fresh Instagram post, Dean explained how he has always been dedicated to his family but is now being forced to walk away from his marriage for the sake of his mental health.

“I’m walking away from this marriage for my mental health and to be the best version of myself. I must set a healthy example for my children. This has nothing to do with postpartum depression,” he wrote.

The heartbroken husband mentioned how he feels betrayed and how Korra’s unbothered attitude to the crisis sums up what their marriage has been like.

“I’m heartbroken!

Anyone that knows me or watches me online knows that I’m a dedicated family man to both Korra and my children. This is honestly the hardest decision of my life, but necessary.

I’m walking away from this marriage for my mental health and to be the best version of myself. I must set a healthy example for my children.
This has nothing do with postpartum depression.

I’ve been betrayed once again and she is unbothered, which pretty much summarizes our marriage.

My apology to the all the young men and women that believed we had a “perfect marriage”.

Marriage is based on mutual love, respect, humility, accountability, empathy, apologies and most of all effective communication to understand the other person’s perspectives.

Likes and views shouldn’t be the highlight of your relationship.

Men: Your mental health matters!

In order to be strong, you have to be happy.” Justin Dean

Dancer Korra Obidi has spoken out for the first time since her husband announced their divorce.

In a video, the dancer expresses her gratitude to her supporters for their support and concern.

“I hope that me finding the strength to come up here will make you happy,” she told her followers as she thanked them.

She also said that her priority now is herself and her newborn.

“So, I’m gonna be one hundred percent committed to taking care of my newborn and myself, cause if the mama is good baby is good.

My message for Korra Obidi and Justin Dean is: STOP FLAUNTING all your affairs on the social media. Get in CAHOOTS with your Higher Selves and Angels. Embrace Higher Consciousness. STOP and DO NOT feed your Ego again because your Ego is NEVER your Amigo. Remember, when you are in the (negative) Ego you will NEVER win!

Finally, I wish your duo peace, bliss and grace to overcome this turbulent. For the sake of your children; why do not you two seek for a way to reunite? Well, the choice is yours.

Sending you Peace, Love, Higher Consciousness and Light!

Our environment we live in has a big role in the shaping of our destiny and living our dreams. The role environment plays in our lives cannot be ignored! Even scientists and psychologists have realized that phenotypic factor which is about the physical environment plays a MAJOR role in our growth and development. You cannot become successful when you are living in an unhelpful environment neither can your dreams manifest when you are in an unhelpful environment.

“There is no joy, passion or fulfillment to be found in living a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” Nelson Mandela

An unhelpful creates a roadblock and obstacles for your dreams because the opportunities, atmosphere, people and platforms you need to succeed CANNOT be found in an unhelpful environment. When you are living in an unhelpful environment the only reality you can have is one of difficulties, hardships, suffering, stagnancy, poverty and limitations. Unhelpful makes you crawl, shrink, hidden—with all your dreams, talents and potentials locked and stifled!! And that is a really terrible reality to be in. In my previous post, I talked about environment in details. You can read about it in the hyperlinked text.

I as an example, my current location (Nigeria) is and has been doing me a BIG DISSERVICE! Because Nigeria is an unhelpful environment to me; because of the corrupt government and system with the disharmonious environment—it makes me trapped and stagnated. That is why I am VERY passionate and determined to LEAVE Nigeria to Canada. Honestly, this is NOT life I am living in Nigeria at all!! Suffice to say that I am not in a positive life momentum. I believe that moving to Canada will pave the way for me to sprout the ideal life I deserve—one which is harmonious with my dreams and destiny; because as Nelson Mandela so eloquently puts it: “there is no joy, passion or fulfillment to be found in living a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” This statement of Nelson Mandela holds TRUTH for me.

Truth be told, I have so much to offer the world but my current location has proven to be a barrier and limitations to me as all my dreams and potentials are stifled!! Canada is a country that is ideal for me where I can thrive, flourish and soar—hence becoming the Luminary I am meant to be and I can assure you that my coming to Canada is a BIG PLUS to Canada; trust me—I kid you not!! Because I am a bunch of talent and potentials that have not been discovered! I know the stuff I am made of. I am very correct to describe myself as visionary, innovative, talented, brilliant, smart, disciplined, trustworthy, intuitive, influential, inspiring, intrepid and creative.

For me to be able to start my journey of moving out of Nigeria to Canada; a dear friend and mentor of mine (Tricia Schinkel) have set up GoFundMe Campaign for me. Please kindly donate to my GoFundMe as I am will be very grateful for every dollar that will be donated to my GoFundMe. It is my determination to give back to the society once I get to Canada; because Canada is a place where I can sprout the life of my dream and a life that I deserve to live!

If you have any questions and further enquiries please contact Tricia Schinkel as she is the one organizing my GoFundMe; the link to my GoFundMe is below.

Traditional Nigerian Religion

Sacred Grove of Osun Shrine: Google images

Religion in various forms is very strong in Nigeria. In other words, Nigerian people are VERY religious. Most Nigerians believe that there is an unseen supernatural world apart from the natural physical world. This other world is inhabited by beings who are the source of our knowledge of good and evil. They watch and judge us and if we offend them they may have to be appeased with prayers.

Certain individuals in the natural world—priests, prophets and diviners are believed to be endowed with special powers to make contact with the other world. They lay down ceremonies or rituals which must be observed if due honour is to be paid to the unseen beings.

The religious beliefs and practices of Nigerians can be classified under three main headings: Traditional religion, Islam and Christianity. This is the order in which each made its appearance in the country.

Traditional or indigenous religion continues to exert a strong influence on many people’s minds, partly because of its association with their birthplaces and family. Each ethnic group has its own religious traditions and these are often linked to some sacred spot or sports in the ethnic homeland; e.g. Ile-Ife. Yet, the various traditional religions have much in common: a remote but benevolent high god; under him, a number of lesser gods who interact with mankind and below them. Various spirits who inhabit natural objects such as: trees, streams, rocks, etc below them again and closest to living men and women, the spirits of the ancestors.

In Yoruba religion, for example, there are more than 400 lesser deities presided over by the high god Olorun. Because he is remote from mankind, shrines are not built to him and worship is not offered to him directly. The lesser gods on the other hand are the subject of special cults, each with its own priests and devotees. Eshu, the messenger of the gods, Ifa the god of divination and Shango the god of thunder and so on. Traditional religion was strong in other parts of Nigeria too.

In Igbo traditional religion, there were fewer gods. Although there was a remote high god, the most import figure was Ala or Ani; the goddess of the earth. In Hausa land, traditional religion has largely gone underground, owing to the influence of Islam, but belief in the existence of ‘Bori—spirits and their power to possess people, especially women—is strong in some areas. Each spirit is associated with a certain type of behaviour which is manifested by the possessed individual.

Divination, that is the discovery of what is unknown or is yet to happen by supernatural or magical means—it is an important element of traditional religion. It is often of the functions of the ‘medicine men’ or inhabitants. In Igboland, there also used to be several oracles which people consulted in order to seek answers to their problems. With the coming of Christianity, their influence waned.

It is so sad, disappointing and shameful that Africans are more religious in the entire planet. Yet, lacking behind in terms of development and progress; countries where the Bible and church are not paraded and where believe in God is little or none are obviously are doing well. Example, Singapore, Denmark, China, Japan etc. I am always thankful and happy that I left church and religion years ago. After I left Jehovah’s Witness I embraced spirituality and I could not have made a better choice! Even Jesus Christ said to worship God in spirit and in truth. Not according to religion!

Sadly in Nigeria where many people are possessed by religious spirits they misunderstand things which are natural part of human nature. For example, the Ozuu which is a natural wine used in ceremony in Nigeria; they say it is not good for a Christian to drink as it is used in shrines. Now the question is; are there not other things used in the shrines? One woman said that during her marriage she did not allow them bring in palm wine because it is used in shrines and idol worships.

There many so-called “Christians” (are they really Christians? I like to call them “Churchians”) who have this false belief that Kola nut is not supposed to be consumed by a “Christian” as it is used in idol worship and shrines. The truth is that all of these useless and blind beliefs are born out of religiosity, ignorance, misleading and brainwashing that religion has done to them!

To wrap up this article, I want you to watch this eye opening videos posted by a legendary Nigerian singer; Charly Boy. To me, Charly Boy seems to be one who is awakened. I love his Maverickness and Quirkiness. You are going to learn a lot from it. I actually enjoyed watching the videos as I watched it on repeat! They are videos you MUST watch! “A mind stretched by new knowledge can never go back to its prior form.” The Mastery of Life

Money Matters

Money: Google images

Money is a subject of great interest to most people and most people want to get more of it. The lawless ones among us see robbery, arson and other forms of stealing as their way to it. Others enrich themselves by using the posts they occupy in companies or government departments to collect bribes or pickups for the award of contracts. Those without financial acumen whatever will merely save any money they acquire by keeping it in the proverbial box under the bed or hole in the ground in which case, clearly it earn no interest. But most people with legacy to spare will think of some kind of holdings, acting on the sound principle that one sum of money can be made to grow into a larger sum.

This can happen in various ways. In Nigeria, small businesses are very popular; saving becomes the foundation needed to establish a provision shop, say or to run a taxi. Although this type of business entails some risks it also offers the prospect of fairly quick and sometimes quite healthy credits. Less enterprising citizens will prefer to put their money in savings or mortgage accounts in banks or they purchase interests-bearing government obligations or stakes in companies that pay a regular refund.

Trading in stocks and shares is what large scale financial dealings are all about and in Nigeria as in other countries these are entirely carried out through the Stock Exchange. The Nigerian Stock Exchange has trading floors in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Kano; it also has branches in Kaduna, Onitsha and Ibadan. The middlemen of the Stock Exchange are known as stockbrokers; they buy and sell shares on behalf of clients for which they charge a tax. Often the client is a company seeking to purchase shares in another company, sometimes with a view to taking over completely. The reason is that several companies operate in a particular line of business. E.g. timber production or textiles and each have a natural interest in driving out competitors and establishing a uniformity.

However, some of those dealing in the Stock Exchange are not there to further the interests of a company engaged in productive business; they are there merely to accumulate that is to purchase shares when they are relatively cheap and sell them again when they fetch higher price. At any time certain shares are increasing in attractiveness and price while others are less attractive and their price is falling.

Occasionally, there is a general loss of confidence in the Stock Exchange, people rush to sell all their shares and there may even be a worldwide Stock Market strike.

Talking About Intelligence

Intelligence Quotient: Google images)

Hi there!! I wanted to tell us about Intelligence. Hence I am sharing this post with us today, Hope you enjoy reading through it.

According to Psychologists, there are four types of Intelligence:

1) Intelligence Quotient (IQ)

2) Emotional Quotient (EQ)

3) Social Quotient (SQ)

4) Adversity Quotient (AQ)

1. Intelligence Quotient (IQ): this is the measure of your level of comprehension. You need IQ to solve maths, memorize things, and recall lessons.

2. Emotional Quotient (EQ): this is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others, keep to time, be responsible, be honest, respect boundaries, be humble, genuine and considerate.

3. Social Quotient (SQ): this is the measure of your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.

People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go further in life than those with a high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize on improving IQ levels while EQ and SQ are played down.

A man of high IQ can end up being employed by a man of high EQ and SQ even though he has an average IQ.

Your EQ represents your Character, while your SQ represents your Charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs, especially your EQ and SQ.

Now there is a 4th one, a new paradigm:

4. The Adversity Quotient (AQ): The measure of your ability to go through a rough patch in life, and come out of it without losing your mind.

When faced with troubles, AQ determines who will give up, who will abandon their family, and who will consider suicide.

Parents please expose your children to other areas of life than just Academics. They should adore manual labour (never use work as a form of punishment), Sports and Arts. Develop their IQ, as well as their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of their parents.

Finally, do not prepare the road for your children. Prepare your children for the road.”

The Three Men Who Looked for Death and Found It!!!

RIP and Skull: Google Images

Long time ago in a faraway land; a wealthy young man died in that land. His death was SO mysterious and painful that it actually SPARKED curiosity among the people of that land. Filled with curiosity, three men decided to embark on a journey to find death and put death out of existence!! Is that possible?

They told the people of the land that they were going to find death and put death out of existence. Some people laughed at them others were surprised and suspicious of their movement. Some of the people in the land called them all kinds of names and how foolish their mission was!! But these three men were too determined to be discouraged so they embarked on their journey to find death and put death out of existence.

After walking a very long distance, they came across a huge baobab tree. The three young men enter and sat under the baobab tree. Surprisingly to them there was calabash filled with gold coins in it!!! They knelt down and screamed, “WE ARE RICH”!!

First Man: There is no need for any of us to work again!! We can buy clothes, house, horses and wives. The world is ours!! The whole world is under our feet!!

The Second Man: Friends, listen! What are we going to do? If we take this money home now; people will say that we stole it. We have to be careful. Let us wait until nightfall

Third Man: A very good idea!! Then we can take the gold home. Nobody will know anything about it.

First Man: But we cannot wait here all day. We have nothing to eat and we have finished the water we have with us already

Second Man: I was thinking the same thing. I have three straws in my hand. The one who chooses the shortest will go and get some food and drink. The others will stay and guard the money

Third Man: Good idea!!

First Man: Agreed!

Second Man: I am always the one who does the work. I do not have any money to buy food and drink

Third Man:         I am always the man who pays for everything! Ok, take this money and go to the town—buy us food and drink. Don’t forget the change!

First Man: Alright, my friends see you soon

Second Man: (thinks to himself) If I have all the money myself, and did not have to share with the other two. I would be very rich!! But I cannot fight these two. There is only one thing I can do. I will visit a witch doctor….

Second Man: (arrives the witch doctor’s shrine)

Witch doctor: Greetings! What do you want from me? I have some excellent bat teeth to help you see in the dark, or perhaps you would like some snake blood to make your girlfriend love you

Second Man: No. I want some poison—some very powerful strong poison

Witch Doctor: Aha! I have some that are very strong that the smallest drop will kill a man in seconds. Don’t make any mistake with it!

Second Man: Thank you wise one! (Pays the Witch Doctor and pours the poison into two bottles of wine)

Third Man: You know, I have been thinking…there is not enough money for all three of us. You know.

Second Man: But what can we do? The other guy is coming back soon

Third Man: Two are stronger than one! When the other guy comes back, we will wait till he sits down and then we will both stab him

Second Man: And then we will both share the money between us! All right! Agreed—but look out here he comes!!

First Man: Hey my friends, I am back. I have bought some food and drinks for us to enjoy

Second Man: Welcome! Come and sit down

Third Man: Sit down let us eat first and then count the money

First Man: Ok (sits down)

Second Man and Third Man: (grabs the First Man and stabs him with their knives)

Second Man: You see, I told you it was easy! Now you and I can share the whole money between the two of us

Third Man: Yes, greed, I was getting tired of First Man. He was always grumbling and he never had any to pay his rounds of drinks

Second Man: Let us forget him. We will bury his body in minutes. Let us have a drink first to celebrate!

Third Man and Second Man: (takes the bottles of wine and started to drink to celebrate. Few minutes later….they both dies)

That was how the Three Men found death when they least expected it

The End.

Love, Romance and Valentine’s Day: Are They Really Connected?

The concept of Valentine’s Day celebration is something I did not understand until I graduated from college. By the way, I am Maverick. So I don’t usually follow the societal programming. For example, I “laugh” at people during Christmas celebration. That’s not say that I don’t receive Christmas gifts. I do, but there is a reason why I said I laugh at people during Christmas celebration. I will share my reasons with you in my next post.

Back to Valentine’s Day celebration; they say that the Valentine’s Day celebration is Lover’s day. I am certainly not against people who are celebrating Valentine’s Day or Christmas celebration. But I wish people would understand some things. Not because I am single is my reason for saying this. Countless times I have heard people say that they “fell in love.” I remind you that I am also quirky. So I want to add my quirkiness. Here it goes: “I don’t want to fall in love. I would rather be in love. There is a difference between the two. Falling in love and be-in Love.

When you fall in love you also fall out of love. When you are in love you are embodying love in your being. You BE-come Love. You are loved and BE-LOVED! You Do as a loving/lovely person should/would. Then you have Love—equals to: Be. Do. Have. This can also be translated to mean: be doing what you want to have…it is just my own personal opinion and belief that is unique to me. It might not make sense to others and that’s okay too.

There is something I want to share with you about this Valentine’s Day. It is from Dr. Kristin Neff. I hope you enjoy reading through it as much as I did. You should learn something from it too. Let me also add that I really agree with Dr. Kristin Neff and thanks to her for such an insightful perspective!! I believe so much in compassion: compassion on one’s self and compassion towards others; this is the message Guan Yin has been teaching us. Think about this:

“Until compassion is spread to all of creation, humanity will never find peace.”

Albert Schweitzer

Meeting Romantic Yearnings With Compassion

Dr. Kristin Neff

Dear friends,

As Valentine’s Day approaches, romance is in the air. Stores are full of bouquets and chocolate-covered strawberries, selling us myriad ways to celebrate love.

Some people are in fulfilling romantic relationships and Valentine’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to express appreciation for one’s partner. The problem, however, is the not-so-subtle message that romance is necessary for our happiness – that we need someone else to complete us.

The truth is we don’t need to connect with a romantic partner to be whole, we need to connect with our true nature to be whole. Women especially are raised with the notion that our worth stems from finding someone to love and cherish us. We’re taught that our value is derived from the adoring eyes of another, and if we aren’t in a relationship with someone who cares about us, we must be a failure.

These deep-rooted cultural beliefs are spotlighted on Valentine’s Day, and can be painful if we don’t have a partner or if our relationship isn’t what we’d like it to be

We often yearn for that feeling of intimacy, of closeness, of oneness, and feel dissatisfied if it’s lacking. These unfulfilled yearnings, though painful, are actually invaluable guideposts.  They’re signals that we’re looking in the wrong place for happiness.

Feelings of incompleteness stem from the misperception that we are separate from life, isolated individuals removed from the whole. When we give compassion to ourselves for our unfulfilled yearnings, we become that which we seek.

By opening our hearts to our pain and remembering this shared aspect of the human experience, we experience true intimacy with life. Happiness doesn’t depend on circumstances, it arises from connecting with the loving quality of awareness, which can hold feelings of loneliness and romance equally.

So if feelings of sadness or dissatisfaction arise for you this Valentine’s Day, try to seize them as an opportunity to see through the illusion of separation. Our real Valentine is the loving nature of our own hearts.

Warmly,

Compassion as Epitomized by Guan Yin

Compassion is a word that sounds so sweet in the tongue and yes it is a very beautiful virtue to have. “Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace.” – Albert Schweitzer.

On my own personal journey of spiritual awakening and personal development; I have Guan Yin (also Kwan Yin) an EPITOME of Compassion. How did I discover this BEAUTIFUL and POWERFUL Goddess?

My experience and connection with Guan Yin began when I was a Jehovah’s Witness (around 2011/2012). There were two publications by the Jehovah’s Witness. One is Mankind Search for God and Keep Yourselves in God’s Love; in one of these two publications Holy Mother Mary and Guan Yin was talked about. Guan was adorned with a golden gown carrying a baby. As I was already familiar with Holy Mother Mary; I became curious about Guan Yin! I was like “Goddess of mercy? How? Why…”? But my curiosity did not stop there. I could remember using a friend’s phone when I was in college to read about Guan Yin (for the virtues of Guan Yin TRULY captured my attention!! At that time and has been endearing and enchanting to date and will always be forever!).

When I finally left Jehovah’s Witness in October 2013; my quest for Truth, Light and my journey to Spirituality and spiritual awakening began. I began exploring Eastern spirituality: for some reason which I have not known yet; I am subliminally drawn to Eastern Spirituality. I have a thing for Eastern spirituality.

As my connection and relationship with Guan Yin began to blossom; I became more drawn towards compassion. With Guan Yin; I have grown more to appreciate compassion. Compassion for one’s self and compassion towards others: this is what Guan Yin is teaching us. Every since I have developed a connection with Guan Yin there have been remarkable changes in my life as I am embracing more of compassion each day and striving towards being a better human being; I affectionately refer to Guan Yin as my Mother (and I am Her child).

I am fond of playing the compassionate mantras of Guan Yin: they are SO healing, sublime, uplifting and peaceful. Suffice to say that they could leave you in joyful tears with goosebumps (as I always experience when I am playing them). Even as I am typing this article I have been playing them on repeat (Lol). These mantras keep you in mindfulness, empowered, grateful and blissful!! I am talking about the Om Mani Padme Hum and Namo Guan Shi Yin Pusa; if you have ever played these mantras you will understand my reason for loving Guan Yin and I am sure you will confirm what I have said. I have the pictures of Guan Yin in my room.

About two weeks ago, I was going to the farm and mindfully singing the Namo Guan Shi Yin Pusa quietly to myself; unknowingly to me; there was trouble and danger ahead of me; but it was averted (maybe I would not have been alive to write this as it was something was about to lead to  bloodshed…).

Trust me; Guan Yin is a force to reckon with! A Goddess to be honoured and respected; She is preeminent. I follow the teachings and wisdom of Guan Yin. In truth, compassion is the pill the world need today because if we all have compassion on ourselves and towards one another there would be no wickedness, racism or trouble as there would be understanding, peace and harmony in the world!

May All Beings be free from Suffering

May All Beings receive Illumination

I will round up this article with some quotes from Guan Yin

“Sit with me in divine faith and believe in me. And I will be there. This goes for all beings…It is difficult for some to hear the voices of the Divine Spirit. This may be because some are so invested in material things. I understand. I feel a deep compassion for these human beings. Material things are a temporary relief from pain.” Kwan Yin

“Some believe I am in servitude to Buddha. However, Buddha doesn’t see it like that. We’re more like brother and sister. There is a difference. I come to people in many forms, forms constructed from people’s own perceptions of how I should come to them. And it is individual spiritual needs that create these unique perceptions. In the end, it does not matter what form I take.” –  Kwan Yin

“A life should definitely belong to the one who tries to saves it, not one who tries to take it.” -Kwan Yin
